A light layer

Transition seasons require a good layering game as temperatures rise and fall across the day. A good spring jacket is a wardrobe workhorse, pairing with dresses, shorts and pants alike and keeping any slight chill at bay. A few casual (and one very special) options below.

These three jackets are great examples of the type of spring layer that everyone needs. In neutral colors that go with everything and made of cotton, they are lightweight, versatile and well-priced. A great accessory for cooler spring days and summer nights, a casual spring jacket will carry you right into fall. The gray is Alex Mill. The olive is Anine Bing. The black is Velvet.

This denim bomber by Nili Lotan is a unique piece. It's the type of thing that you don't know you need, but then you find yourself wearing it all the time. It's the perfect length to throw over top of any of your spring/summer dresses. Or, it would be great with a high waisted pant. Pop the collar and roll the sleeves.

Finally, for the piece de resistance, check out this beauty by Simone Rocha. It's a forever piece and even more incredible in real life. The flattering cut, the elegant sleeve, the glam beaded detail...swoon. It's designed to be a wardrobe star since you can wear it so many ways and it instantly elevates your look. Amazing over a black and white outfit or paired with denim.
