After five seasons at the helm, the latest designer (Susana Clayton) at Joseph has truly hit her stride. It doesn't get better than this fall collection. You will be enthralled by the colorways - rich, beautiful and sophisticated tones of teal, burgundy intermixed with gorgeous neutrals. And the fabrics are tactile and luxurious too - soft leather, thick cabled sweaters, lightweight wools. These are investment pieces for sure, but well priced given the quality and design.
The teal color in this outfit is so sophisticated and subtle. We love the whole outfit. First, the cut of these lightweight wool pants has to be discussed. They are super wearable with their wide leg and ankle length. Wear the teal with all of your neutrals - white, black, grey, burgundy, navy. But paired with the teal top, the monochromatic look is perfection. The top is a silk shirt that reads as a sweater with its trim and blouse detail at the waist. Boots, brogues or a flat shoe would all fit the bill with this outfit.
You have to trust us when we tell you that the cut of this pant is flattering on all body types. It's become a mini-trend among high-end designers. We love the oversized cuffs in this version. The look is classic and works equally well with a heel or flat.
We've profiled this gabardine stretch legging before. It's not at all a typical legging - it's really a woven, thick gorgeous pant that happens to be cut in a legging style. The fabric is both forgiving and flattering. It's a very chic alternative to a skinny jean and looks especially good with an oversized top. And they are ON SALE - a rare occurrence at this point in the season. BUY THEM!!
Here we have Joseph's classic lightweight wool trouser pant, an essential wardrobe item. It's a little dressier than the gabardine version we've profiled before. Slightly menswear inspired, this is a great basic that belongs in your closet.
We are loving this gorgeous silk dress in orange (it also comes in teal). It's just an easy piece for fall/winter. Tie the tie in a deep V or let it hang loose. It also comes with a self-belt - if you wear it, tie it over the ties. Or just leave it unbelted like in the photo. We like this with a chocolate brown or black boot.
We really can't get enough of this gorgeous teal color and the cut of this skirt happens to be brilliant. It's particularly flattering in how it lays flat against the waist line before the subtle flare begins. The thick wool fabric is a classic and will last forever. Wear it with a boxy knit sweater that ends at the waist or with a tucked in shirt. A high boot creates the best line.
Check out this awesome, modern, leather tunic. It's like a classic leather jacket but more versatile. And it has pockets! Wear it with a good black leather pant for a look that is chic and sleek. Or wear it over jeans or any of the pants above. For a different look, wear it open.
This oversized red, chunky knit sweater is exactly what we want to be wearing this season. The color is right and the oversized cut and high neck make it a little different. We like this half tucked or you can wear it loose over leggings.
Joseph is known for its beautiful, simple, sweaters like this one. This is merino, but not itchy like cheap merino. The V-neck is universally flattering. It's an elevated basic and comes in black or navy.
Jen loves the drama of this shirt - the pleats at the shoulder and cuff, the oversized look - all of it. And the grey silk is beautiful. Wear it half-tucked or loose.
And we're back to the deep teal. This tie shirt is so elegant and done in an elegant medium- weight silk. Tie it loosely and let it hang low or tie it to one side in a knot. It goes with literally any pant bottom. And how amazing would it be with the teal pants above?
If you find yourself getting tired of the traditional ballet flat that's been a staple for the past 10 years, check out this updated flat. A little more substantial, these offer the perfect amount of coverage. They avoid toe cleavage, but they aren't trying to be a boot either. Perfect for today's weather and amazing with all of the pants above in fall and spring.
Here are the white sneakers that you buy and save for dressing up. Make this the pair that you keep crisp and clean and wear all year round with stepped-up pants or dresses. They would be so cute with the cuffed pant above. They also come in white on white.

Jen recently came across this Dries van Noten coat and fell in LOVE. It's a coat you will have for the rest of your life. It would look AMAZING over literally any of the clothes in this post.
