In this time of social distancing, many small businesses are suffering. Shopping online is a way to offer our support when we can't leave the house. One great resource to put on your radar if it's not already is Farfetch. Farfetch provides an online retail platform for 300+ independent boutiques located around the world. These boutiques carry a terrific range of designers from mid-range to high-end. Many have had to close their physical locations given the pandemic, but they are still able to ship safely. Below you'll find some of our favorite pieces from these boutiques available now on Farfetch and wearable all spring and summer.
Nanushka is a female-founded vegan brand designed in Budapest. We love these pieces for spring.
The black top on the left would be gorgeous with a maxi skirt or high waisted pant. It's a great twist on a typical tank top and also comes in cream.
The vegan leather outfit in the middle photo is amazing. Wear the pieces together as a sort of summer suit. Separately, the pieces are super versatile. We'd love the baggy shorts with the black top and a heel or wedge sandal. And the jacket would be super cute over dresses all summer long. Pop the collar and leave it open.
On the right, the black vegan wrap dress is sexy without showing a lot of skin and works well across various body types.
Perfect spring/summer dresses (clockwise from top left)
Jen loved the style in the movie A Bigger Splash. This white dress by Jacquemus is a nod to that look - sexy and understated. Wear it on vacation with no bra or a nude strapless in town.
Sofie D'hoore's cotton dresses are the best. Jen has been in love with them for a decade. They're made from a beautiful cotton that lasts forever and almost all have pockets. This navy dress is a great example. Shorter people should wear it with a wedge or heeled sandal. Local DC boutique, Relish, carries Sofie D'hoore as well.
We love this little denim dress by See by Chloe with its puffed sleeve and embroidery. It's cute with a wedge and the top unbuttoned.
For a splurge, this Jil Sander piece is amazing. It's a really gorgeous dress in real life that's an extra step up. You can wear it to a summer cocktail party or even just out to lunch on vacation.
This tiered cotton sundress by Matteau is so cute. It's super airy and lightweight. You can wear it with a bathing suit and flip flop or with a wedge out to dinner. If you're in between sizes, size up.
Classic Nili Lotan tops
Nili Lotan has been one of Jen's favorite designers for high quality staples for years. These three black tops are great examples.
The spaghetti strap camisole on the left has a beautiful cowl neck. It's a great layer or on its own and the silk Nili is known for lasts forever with proper care.
The Nili muscle tee is a great basic with everything. Most everyone needs a good tee shirt and this one is just right.
And finally the shirt on the right is classic Nili - quality cotton fabric and a chic asymmetric cut. Wear it with the sleeves rolled up and the top unbuttoned. Pair it with shorts on summer evenings with a wedge sandal.
Six great bottoms - clockwise from top left.
Helmut Lang makes these metallic coated stretchy jeans - they are the bomb. Great way to change up your denim for spring.
These R13 jeans are expensive, but so cool. They're a little grungy in a good way and the crossover drop crotch is interesting - definitely not something everyone else is wearing. And they're forgiving around the waist. Try them with a little tank on top.
The skinny jeans by Frame have just a little flare at the bottom. They're a very dark navy that almost reads as black.
We love these comfortable stretchy shorts by Sunflower. They're easy to dress up or down for summer. You can wear them to the office or out to dinner.
In addition to great dresses, Sofie D'hoore makes wonderful, easy cotton pants. They're dreamy for the summer with elastic waists. The navy ones show here are slim with a crop flare and the black ones are a bit wider legged.
A few chic accessories
Rosantica makes these oversized heart earrings. Wear them with your hair down and a sundress. They're cutesy, but in a good way.
This headband by Ruslan Baginskiy is not for everyone - but if headbands are for you, this one is interesting. Wear it with all white, keeping the overall palette neutral.
We love Ancient Greek Sandals. If you're not familiar, it's a great mid-priced brand. This is one of the few styles they make that aren't totally flat. We like the thick leather strap as a contrast worn with sundresses. They're sort of like a high-end modern Teva.
Kismet by Milka makes this beautiful rose gold ring. We love rose gold in summer. It's a great gift for Mother's Day :). Wear it on your pointer finger.
