Jump for joy

The beauty of a jumpsuit is that it's a one-stop shop. The best are sophisticated, elegant and comfortable for evening (New Year's Eve is coming....) or easy and fun for day. Dress them up or down with the right shoes and accessories and you're out the door.

The two pictured above are the most sophisticated of our picks. Wear them all dressed up with a great heel or black bootie. The one on top is by McQ Alexander McQueen (40% off right now) and would look great with a shorter necklace that sits right on the neckline. The one below by G. Label should be worn with a great cuff or statement earring.

This Theory jumpsuit is classic and affordable (and 40% off right now). Wear it in cooler weather with a black heel and a short tuxedo jacket. In warmer weather, switch it up with a black sandal. Jen's advice: tie the sash in a double knot and let it hang low instead of going for a bow.

Halston makes this great alternative to classic black. It can be worn with a nude or black heel. Pair it with a sophisticated drop earring.

Rag & Bone makes this satin black number with a trouser style pant and cute tank top. This one also has a belt. Jen recommends after you loop it through the D ring, pull it towards your hip and loop the end of the sash around the belt, letting the longer part hang down. The tail of the belt will sit more cleanly. This piece looks particularly great with a strapless bra and a cropped blazer on top.

Here's another one by G. Label. It's super pretty with its silk chiffon neck tie (tie it in a long-looped bow over your shoulder). This is a great option for people who prefer not to have a belt around their waists, but still want definition. We like it best with a heel.

This is Jen's favorite pick. It's by Victoria, Victoria Beckham and it's perfect for the warmer months paired with a wedge heel. The blue color is incredible. Tie the waist belt to one side (not in a bow). (Note - it's sold in UK sizing).

This Apiece Apart jumpsuit bridges the gap between dressy and casual. It's fun to wear with flats or a stylish sneaker as well as with a heel. It's highly versatile - wear it to the office or a party or even running around town.

Just for fun, here's a super casual pick from L.F.Markey. It's worn best unzipped to create an attractive neckline. Roll up the sleeves and pant legs for a relaxed look.
