Spring has sprung in many parts of the country and it's time for a bit of a wardrobe refresh as we begin contemplating venturing out again. Today we're profiling some of Jen's favorite pieces that she's been shopping with clients this season, as well as her advice on how to wear them. Let us know what you think in the comments.
This eye-catching Isabel Marant wide-leg jean is a great spring find. Amazing and so chic, it's best on people whose thinnest part of their body is their waist. If that's you, scoop it up.
Where the Isabel Marant wide-leg at the top of the post is very specific and flattering on a certain body type, these two pieces are almost universally flattering. The Nili Lotan jean is a great cut that both slims and lengthens and the pockets are a cute detail. You want a shape like this in your denim arsenal.
Same story with the Vince shorts. These are an essential item, especially if you're someone who typically avoids shorts. These have a bit more length than most shorts and they look great with an oversized top.
We love a jean jacket and this one by Isabel Marant is great modern version in an 80s wash. It's a little something different and would look terrific over a spring dress. Two we love and that go from lunch to dinner to pool are these in purple and white by Mara Hoffman. The purple will fit well if you wear a size A/B bra cup (if you wear it as a pool cover up, it's more flexible). The white is easy breezy on all shapes and sizes.
A common question Jen gets is what top to pair with all of the chic high waisted pants and jeans out there. Here are two chic answers from Cos, depending on your body type. The white tank on the left is great if you want to show off your waist and tuck it in. On the right, the white shirt is more forgiving and has more coverage and movement, while still playing well with a high waisted bottom.
Here's another piece by Nili Lotan that happens to be perfect on all shapes and sizes. This tunic is classic Nili Lotan in that it's cut just right with all of the attention to detail you would expect. Wear it with a pant, the Vince shorts above, a great pair of jeans (half tucked). Or, wear it alone over a bathing suit unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up. We like the black stripe above as well as the blue stripe found here.
Rounding out our spring finds with a few great shoes. At top, Clergerie is a super trusted sandal brand that Jen has been wearing and buying with clients for 15 years. This black sandal is comfortable and very wearable. It's worth the investment. The silver Birkinstocks have a bit of a platform so you get a little lift. We wear silver as a neutral. Finally, Veja is just a good all-around, affordable, sneaker brand and we love the light pink detail for spring.
