Springing forward

Shall we agree to skip this long covid winter and go straight to spring? The fashion world seems to be on board from what we're seeing online and in stores. Below you'll find some casual outfit inspiration for a new season. All great pieces on their own, they're even better paired together.

Sacai is a brand we return to regularly because of all the little details that make their pieces special. Their gray sweatshirt above is a little cropped and hits higher at the back. The cool three-quarter sleeve and the thick fabric are not elements you find on most sweatshirts. Wearing it with Joseph's silk dress or skirt is super chic. We love these silk pieces because you can wear them year round (and because the anthracite color is killer). Try them in winter with a blazer or on their own in spring and summer. Keep the casual vibe going by wearing a sneaker, Birkenstock or shoe boot. Note - the side zip on the skirt is the key to ensuring a good fit.

We love this Dries Van Noten cotton shirt dress. The color combination is inspired. It's perfect to wear in spring straight through fall. Roll the sleeves and open the top buttons.

The lines between active-wear and ready-to-wear are pretty blurry at this point. If you'd rather not give up the sweatpants just yet (who does?), check out these pieces that are a little less typical, but still high on comfort. The RE/DONE tank is an Ellevated essential. We also love these two unusual sweats. The navy are by Cynthia Rowley and the rose are by Nili Lotan (you need to love the drop crotch look which is even better with a cropped leg). Pair this look with the oversized black denim jacket from Topshop and an updated lug sole Converse. The Sacai sweatshirt above would also be great with this look.

This is a great little top by G. Label. The exposed zipper is a good detail and it allows you to make the adjustments that are right for you and your cleavage. Jen loves a three-quarter sleeve for spring. We're pairing it with a classic Nili Lotan pant that comes in many amazing colors. This navy is a great neutral but we also love the carbon, dusty pink, washed marine navy and military green.

We've profiled this Nili Lotan top before. We own it (in multiple colors!) and love it. It's newly available in this beautiful dusty rose. When you put it on, it feels like wearing air. We like it with shorts, jeans or these cool, casual elastic waist cargo culottes with their chic wide leg. Culottes can be a miss but these are cropped in the right spot.
